Guides for dispatchers

Step by step through Route Planner Teams, from creating your team to following your drivers' day. Start with the first guide; guides 2 to 7 follow a typical planning day in order.

These guides are for owners and dispatchers of delivery businesses with up to 15 drivers. They cover a whole planning day on the website: importing stops from Excel or CSV, fixing addresses, optimizing routes with delivery time windows, choosing proof of delivery, sending routes to drivers' phones and following the day. The last guide connects your shop or spreadsheet to Route Planner Teams through Zapier.

All guides, in the order of a planning day

  1. Create a team and invite members Get access, create your team and bring everyone in with one invite: a code, a link, a QR code or WhatsApp.
  2. Create a route and add stops Create a route, then add stops by searching, pasting a list, uploading a file or clicking the map.
  3. Fix addresses that need attention Check, correct or remove the addresses that couldn't be placed with confidence before you optimize.
  4. Optimize with delivery windows Set up the route, add delivery windows, optimize, spot late stops and change the order by hand.
  5. Split a day into routes Load all the stops of the day, tick the drivers, and get balanced routes sent to each of them.
  6. Proof of delivery and parcel control Choose what drivers capture at each stop, for the team or a single stop, and check parcels by their code.
  7. Assign a driver and follow the day Hand each route to a driver, change it when plans change and follow every stop live.
  8. Dispatchers and view-only members Give the Dispatcher role to anyone in the team, decide which routes each one manages, and keep drivers to the plan with View only.
  9. Connect Route Planner Teams to Zapier Orders from a spreadsheet, shop or form go straight to Inbox, and your customers hear when they’re delivered.
