Guide 2

Create a route and add stops

Every route starts in Routes. You set the day, the start time and the depot, then add the stops in any of four ways, and you can mix them freely.

Create a route

  1. In Routes, click New Route (on a phone: Create New Route).
  2. Check the Route name, the Date and the Start time. Routes can be planned from yesterday up to 7 days ahead.
  3. In Start — depot, start typing the address of your warehouse or depot and pick it from the suggestions.
  4. Choose the Driver now, or leave No driver yet and assign the route later.
  5. Click Add stops. The route builder opens.
The New Route window with the route name, driver, date, start time, depot and route options
The start time, depot and options of your last route in this browser are filled in for you.

The same window has Round trip, Minutes per stop, Group parcels and Keep my order; see Optimize with delivery windows.

Paste a list

  1. Click Paste list.
  2. Paste one address per line, or rows copied from Excel or Google Sheets.
  3. Click Add addresses. Each line becomes a stop, and the addresses are looked up in the background.

Upload a file

Click Upload file and choose a CSV, Excel (XLSX, XLS) or JSON file. The address column is found automatically, even if the header isn't in the first row or the address is split across several columns. Other columns are picked up when their headers match:

A route can have up to 200 stops. Addresses that couldn't be placed with confidence are marked; see Fix addresses that need attention.

Changes save automatically

There's no Save button: the builder saves the route a moment after each change. If something can't be saved, for example when the connection drops, a message says so at the bottom of the builder and the change is tried again.

Stops count towards your team's monthly limit when they're saved to a route, not while you search.
